Some discomfort is normal, especially for first-timers. The good news is it gets significantly easier with regular sessions as hair grows back finer and softer over time. Most clients say it's far more manageable than they expected — and once you experience the results, you'll never go back.
Yes, you can. Just be aware that your skin is more sensitive during this time, which can make the experience slightly more uncomfortable than usual. We recommend wearing a fresh tampon or menstrual cup to your appointment. There is absolutely no judgement here — we've seen it all.
At least 2–3mm — roughly the length of a grain of rice. If you've been shaving, wait at least 2–3 weeks before your first wax appointment. This gives the hair enough length for the wax to grip properly and ensures the best possible result. Avoid shaving between wax appointments.
New clients should book every 3 weeks while your hair growth cycle evens out. Regular clients can move to every 4 weeks or longer as hair grows back finer and slower over time. With a laaaik wax. membership your cycle is scheduled in advance so you never have to think about it.
For 24–48 hours after waxing avoid hot baths or showers, saunas, tight clothing, sun exposure, swimming, and applying scented or active products to the waxed area. From 48 hours onwards, exfoliate gently 2–3 times per week to prevent ingrown hairs. Our ingrown oil and body scrub are available in studio to help.
A Brazilian removes hair from the front only — everything from the bikini line inward, leaving the back area. A Hollywood is a complete removal — front and back — leaving everything completely bare. Not sure which one is right for you? Just ask Lorelle at your appointment and she will guide you with zero judgement.
